Francis was a tireless proponent of Bacon's authorship of the Shakespeare canon. He ran the Shakespeare Authorship Information Centre for over 40 years, and was editor of Who Was Shakespeare, a fortnightly news bulletin devoted to press and book items of Baconian and Shakesperean interest. His most recent book is Who Wrote Don Quixote?
