Peter Dawkins is probably the world's leading proponent of Francis Bacon as an esoteric philosopher. He established the Francis Bacon Research Trust to promote these studies. For many years he has been active as an author and lecturer, and has hosted many events of Baconian interest including seminars at Canonbury Tower and St. Albans.

Peter has has written numerous books on the role of esoteric teachings of Rosicrucianism and Freemasonry in Shakespeare. His most recent work, The Shakespeare Enigma (2004) was a comprehensive study of the Shakespeare Authorship Question, drawing on traditional and current Baconian investigations.

He is also active as a contemporary spiritual teacher, and developed a science of landscape energies called Zoence, which can be described as a Western form of Feng Shui.
