James North will be giving a talk on Wednesday, 12th of March, entitled "Between Science and Religion: Hermeticism in 17th Century England". The venue will be Treadwell's Bookshop, starting at 7:15 pm.

Christine Rhone will be speaking on "The Platonic City: sacred geometry and zodiacal symbolism in ancient Greece" on 28 March at the Theosophical Society, organised by RILKO.

The Francis Bacon Society can now accept payment by PAYPAL, making it much easier for non-sterling payments to be processed. Please contact the webmaster for details.

APRIL

The next Francis Bacon Society meeting will take place on 9th May 2008 at Senate House. Our guest speaker, Mark Finnan, will be giving a talk entitled "Francis Bacon's New Atlantis - a Vision For Our Time". More details may be found here.

James North will be giving a lecture to the Canonbury Masonic Research Centre on "The Esoteric Sources of Baconian Science and the Controversial Relationship between Freemasonry & Rosicrucianism" on 16th April. The venue will be Canonbury Tower, was leased and used by Francis Bacon in the early 17th century.

James will also be speaking on "The Spear of Destiny: Politics and the Esoteric Orders, a St. George's Day Meditation" on 23rd April. This is the last of a lecture series on the Hermetic tradition at Treadwell's Bookshop.

The Annual General Meeting of the Francis Bacon Society will take place on August 28th at London University Library. Full details to follow shortly.

A two day conference (30-31 August) entitled "Shakespeare's Evolving Genius - Timon of Athens" at the St. Bride Foundation, London. There is a performance of the play on Saturday 30th at the Globe Theatre. For more details see here.
